I ordered the kids' preschool curriculum. Really? Before I know it, we'll be sending our kiddos off to college and a professional career as a line backer (that'd be Deacon...). Oh my, how time flies. I'm aware that I probably say this on every blog post. Time flies fast and it challenges me to be obedient in where God has me now. I hope to record these precious adventures that our family is taking more often and constantly give thanks to God along the way.

Bear is a little over two months now. We've established somewhat of a schedule and are segwaying back into civiilization. Two cheers for more sleep. Adjusting to three kids hasn't been as crazy as I thought it would be. Seeing Mae and Deacon love on Bear has been sweet. They are always willing to hold him or go get something for him. Let's hope that passes on into the tween years?

I'm reminded to rely on the Lord daily because He is the source of love, kindness, mercy and grace. I'm realizing that I can be somewhat of a grumpopotamus in the morning when I haven't slept much. I'm also more impatient and touchy when I haven't cherished the truths of God's infinitely loving character.

Yesterday the kids and I read through Psalm 1. A man is blessed when he cherishes God and his Word above all:

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers, but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1: 1-2

One of the questions in their devotional asked what it meant to delight in God's Word. To help the kids get a better idea of delighting, it gives the example of delighting in ice cream. Delighting in ice cream is eating it up, loving the flavor, and wishing you could have some more. We all like this tasty treat so we appreciated the analogy. I came away convicted though about how much I need God's help to delight in his Word. I am blessed beyond measure, but amidst the tasks and diaper changes of the day, I'm slow to run to God and his Word. How sweet it is to rely on a loving God.
